I recently purchased the Dell Ultrasharp Monitor and have been extremely impressed with its high quality and sleek design. The ability to adjust the screen and screen resolution has been incredibly helpful and the ultrathin bezel provides a seamless view. I have purchased three of these monitors for myself, my wife, and my Dad and we have all been extremely satisfied with their performance. The monitor's ability to adjust to our comfort with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments has also been a great feature. In of sustainability, the monitor is made of 85% PCR and meets the latest environmental standards, including ENERGY STAR. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase of the Dell Ultrasharp Monitor and would highly recommend it to others.

Edit: I liked it enough to buy a second and spelling considerations.

Update: the second unit has wildly inconsistent backlighting, colors, and bleed. I have ordered up a replacement and hope it's a fluke.

Update again: The third monitor, although having the worst looking calibration sheet of the three is perceptually the same as the first. Uniform backlit and glow, no backlight bleed what so ever. Fwiw, the Dell box in the Amazon box for the second monitor looked like it had been roughed up a fair bit before Amazon sent it out the me. The first and third Dell boxes looked much better and maybe the second one was a fluke do to rough handling before it ended up in my hands. It is impossible to say but for what it is worth I now have two perfect copies of the U2719DX and am quite happy.

Update 02-03-2019: This will be the last update unless something goes terribly wrong. I am still very happy with the monitors. One thing I noticed vs the Asus s is that when cold, the asus s' backlight generate a bit of light flickering for the first 20-30 seconds of wake from sleep/power on. These Dells do not. Again, they are not gaming monitors but they have very lovely color and consistency and I think would make for a nice budget photo or video editing display or a quality additional monitor where adaptive sync is not a concern. Using them as surround displays to a Gsync main, some tearing and lag is perceptible (Assasin's Creed Odyssey, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Trackmania Turbo, etc) but not enough to make them unsuitable for an nVidia surround option for that expanded field of view. In non fast paced gaming, there are no issues to this end (Civilization series, Xcom series, etc)

Update 04-11-2019: I just used the USB ports on the second of these monitors where one has always had at least one port in use. The second monitor's powersupply generates a 12KHz whine whenever any device is plugged in where the Asus PG279Q and the other of these U2719DX displays does not. It is quite audible but not enough for me to bother RMAing at this point. Probably will try towards the end of the warranty period.

To keep it brief, I only have a few different monitors for frame of reference: Asus PG279Q, Asus PG279QZ, the TN 120hz gsync on my Alienware 17r4, the OLED on my Alienware 13 R3.

Does it have the viewing angles, contrast, or colors of the OLED laptop display? No.

It is at least the equal of the IPS Asus s in those regards. It does not exhibit those s' annoying green casting of black verticle text elements on white backgrounds and with informal testing seems much, much closer to truly neutral in grays out of the box than my best efforts to tune the PG279Q/z. Despite being 60Hz refresh rate using a Displayport certified Club3d cable it doesn't suffer for non 3d gaming motion perceptual smoothness in video playback or motion of mouse from Logitech G Pro wireless mouse at any DPI setting I use (between 400 dpi and 10k). I wouldn't suggest picking this up as a first person shooter monitor, I tried gaming on it and on where I dominate (relatively) on the Gsync 144hz PG279Q, I get fragged and miss a lot of shots I simply make on the Dells. Last note here is this monitor's bezels are about two-thirds the effective thickness of the Asus "bezeless" and almost completely flush vs the very obvious lip on said Asus s. The U2719DX looks much classier off, on, and only gives up frame rate and Gsync to the much pricier PG279Q displays.

There was a calibration sheet from the factory and it looks dead on. It has its power converter built in so all you need is an IEC C13 cable for power (included in box with HDMI and USB 3.1 generation 1 A to B cables but no DP cable).

The headphone output is enough to drive some Shure SRH-1840 headphones to uncomfortable levels but the amp and DAC on board won't replace a quality desktop solution from the usual parties but is more than enough in quantity and quality to satisfy those who 'checked out' at DAC. That said, it sounds better with my very low impedance Shure SE846 iems fwiw and better still from the SE535.

I did not use the included base assembly as this display is on a VESA 100x100 mount. It does not 75x75 natively fwiw. Like everything else common to the package and display itself Dell thoughtfully had the base and accessories intelligently packed in a single box that also serves as the transit protection for the back side of the monitor. It lifts out very easily to reveal the assembly itself and goes right back in to the box at the same height allowing you to easily keep all accessories in the transit carton secured as they were when they left the factory. Asus should take notes here. I have retained those boxes in case of RMA or future sale and they take up approximately 4 times the volume while not securing unused bits nearly as tidily.

All in all I am very happy with the product for the price charged.

I'm extremely happy with this monitor. No dead pixels, backlight bleeding is tolerably low for an IPS monitor. There can be some significant shadowing around the edges with certain content at certain angles, but it's not very noticeable or annoying during normal usage. The stand is quite nice and despite some initial misgivings about the design I've come to like it quite a bit. The display itself is a bit more yellowish in color compared to my aging U2713HM and VS24AH-P, but to be honest after using it for a few weeks it now just makes those two look overly blue, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I like this monitor so much that I went ahead and picked up another one (albeit the U2719D this time as I need another DP cable), which should be arriving in the next few days.

I had to create a patched monitor override plist with an edited EDID to work around a long-standing OSX/macOS bug with certain DP monitors. The same procedure that I followed for my U2713HM (basically just disable YCbCr & remove the CEA extension block) worked perfectly for fixing the issues on this monitor when using DP.

I was debating whether to get the 27 inch or a larger one do to my photo editing. Now that I have this one I'm glad I didn't get a bigger one. I wouldn't know where to look first! It was easy to set up (even for this 70 year old woman) and the color, clarity and features are just terrific. I took one star off due to the fact that it doesn't have built in speakers. I could have sworn it did, which is one reason why I purchased it. After trying for over an hour to get the speakers to work I called tech and they told me this model didn't have them. Oh well. I just plugged in my old speakers and I was ready to go. I compared this with many other brands and finally decided for the price this would do the job. And it does. Very happy happy with this purchase.

Very good monitor for everyday use, emails, word processing, office use, watching videos and YouTube. Very sharp image. Dell puts a lot of money into the stand for raising and lowering, turning and twisting the screen, so you can be comfortable when using it. Be aware of the video output jack on the back of your computer. The old-fashioned video plug will not work with this monitor, the old plug with the two screws on it. Your computer must have output jacks to match: HDMI or Display Port are needed to this monitor. Be aware that the full quality capabilities of this monitor, to display the most accurate colors, and to watch movies and TV in HD, your computer must have a true video card with good capabilities, not the standard integrated video that comes with many computers. You can check this on your computer: the task bar at bottom of your screen, in the white box type "Control " and look for items for your Display, such as Graphics Card or Integrated Graphics.
